Senator Steve Drazkowski

Senator Drazkowski is serving his first term in the Minnesota Senate representing District 20, which includes communities in Dakota, Goodhue, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona counties. He serves on the State and Local Government and Veterans Committee and the Taxes Committee.

 Prior to being elected to the Senate, Drazkowski served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2007-2022. He held leadership roles in the House, including serving as Chair of the House Property Tax Committee and two different minority caucus leadership positions. Drazkowski and his wife Laura live in Mazeppa, on the western edge of Wabasha County. They also have a daughter who resides in Virginia with her family.

Drazkowski was born in Winona and grew up on a family farm in Bluff Siding, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and served as student senate president. He also earned a Master of Education degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Minnesota. His work experience includes nearly 15 years as a county agricultural educator with the University of Minnesota Extension Service. In 2015, he took over the family’s shoe business, Baker Shoes, which has been in operation since the 1920s. 

In his free time, Drazkowski enjoys fishing, hunting, and working outdoors.
