Senator Newman statement on overwhelming constituent feedback: ‘people are angrier, more frustrated, more upset, and more desperate than I can ever remember’

Senator Scott Newman (R-Hutchinson) today issued the following statement regarding the overwhelming volume of constituent feedback he has received recently about the governor’s shutdown order.

“I have received a lot of emails during my time as a state senator. I have always prided myself on responding to almost everyone who contacts me. Until now. For the first time ever, I have to ask constituents to bear with me, as it is virtually impossible to keep up with the incredible volume of email I have received about the governor’s shutdown orders.

“People are angrier, more frustrated, more upset, and more desperate than I can ever remember. I get it, and I am with you. The outrage is completely understandable given the devastation and havoc that the governor is wreaking on their families. Please keep sending me your experiences. Every agonizing story; every plea for support; every angry, expletive-filled email helps and makes a difference in this battle.

“I read every piece of email I receive, and I will always do my best to reply to as many as I can. Please know that I will continue to do everything I can to fight the governor’s tyrannical orders.”
