Senator Mark Koran (R–North Branch) released the following statement in response to the death of Josh Wines, who was critically injured Thursday during the “Night of Destruction” demolition derby event at the Isanti County Fair and later died.
“I’m heartbroken for Josh Wines, his wife, his family and friends, and our entire community. Josh had just gotten married last year and was supposed to leave for his honeymoon with his wife the day after the event. Instead, this tragic accident happened.
The Fair is a special event that brings people together, and it’s devastating that such a tragedy occurred there. My deepest condolences go out to Josh’s wife and family, to everyone who knew him, and to all in our community and beyond who are feeling the weight of this loss.”
A GoFundMe has been created to support Josh’s wife.
