Senator Jordan Rasmusson responds to budget forecast and projected $2.4 billion surplus

Senator Jordan Rasmusson (R-Fergus Falls) released the following statement on Minnesota Management and Budget forecasts showing the state may have a $2.4 billion surplus next session.

Early indicators are showing that we are trending toward a budget surplus for next year. The latest forecast underscores the immense burden on taxpayers, and it’s long overdue to provide them with real financial relief.

During the 2023 session, we saw state government grow by an unprecedented 38%. Taxpayers deserve a break from massive government spending, and that is why I believe our priority must be tax relief for hard-working Minnesotans.
