Senator Jensen’s update on COVID-19

On Monday, March 9th, the Minnesota Legislature unanimously passed a bill to provide emergency funding to be used to combat COVID-19 in Minnesota. Governor Walz signed it into law the following day.

The emergency funds will allow the Minnesota Department of Health, in collaboration with the Center of Disease Control, to support disease investigation, monitor potential cluster outbreaks, provide information to the public, coordinate statewide response activities, and conduct laboratory analysis. Legislators, the administration, and public health officials remain in frequent contact. I will continue to advocate for access to care and testing for those in need.

Minnesota leads in so many ways, and I am confident we will lead in the battle against Coronavirus.

It is more important than ever to be thoughtful, kind, and thankful in the days and weeks to come.
