College internship opportunity in Senator Carla Nelson’s capitol office

Senator Carla Nelson and the Minnesota Senate are seeking applications from college and university students who are interested in learning more about state government through an internship in Sen. Nelson’s fast paced Senate office at the capitol in St. Paul.

“Senate internships provide students a unique opportunity to not only learn the legislative process, but also have a hands-on role in the day-to-day functions of our state government,” said Senator Nelson, Chairwoman of the powerful Senate Education Finance Committee. “Internships serve an invaluable role in a collegiate education, expanding learning opportunities from the classroom to the professional world. I highly encourage students from all fields of study to apply and participate in our government.”

Interested students can contact Sen. Nelson’s office at sen.carla.nelson@senate.mn or 651-296-5956 for more information. Applications can be found online here and will be accepted until the close of business on Thursday, November 8.  Interviews will begin in early December, with orientation in early January. Students may receive college credit for a Senate internship through their respective education institutions.
