Sen. Mark Koran Statements on Pension Reform Bill and State Employee Contract Ratification

Senator Mark Koran’s [R-North Branch] statement on SF 2620, the 2018 Omnibus Pension Bill:

“The Minnesota Senate unanimously passed a bipartisan, comprise pension reform bill that ensures the long-term solvency of our state employees’ retirement investments. This was a carefully crafted shared sacrifice between the retirees, active employees, and the state. The result is the largest and most significant pension reform bill in our state’s history, and assures each pension fund continues to provide essential benefits to its retirees.”

Senator Mark Koran’s statement on SF 3154, the contract and compensation plans ratification for state employees:

“In addition to today’s pension reform bill, the Senate passed with overwhelming bipartisan support legislation ratifying our state employee contracts. As a member of the Subcommittee on Employee Relations and former state employee, I understand firsthand the importance of supporting our state’s workforce.”
