Sen. Kiffmeyer responds to COVID vaccine rollout including those 65 and older

Following the Governor’s announcement to include individuals 65 years old and over in the rollout of COVID vaccines, Senator Mary Kiffmeyer released the following statement:

“After hearing from so many of my constituents worried about the process of the COVID vaccine, I am pleased to see the pressure placed on the Governor worked. Recognizing that COVID targets those age 65 and older in particular, it is imperative to add this age group to be eligible to receive a COVID vaccine if they want it. Again, this is simply commonsense and the right thing to do.

However, Minnesota is amongst the slowest in the nation in distributing vaccines. This needs to change. There are so many local pharmacies, clinics, and other resources ready to help, the Governor needs to make better use of these resources to move things faster for those who want and need the vaccine.

My goal is to stay on top of this issue to do all I can to ensure the Governor follows through on his word.”
