Lang responds to train derailment, offers support to the Raymond community

Earlier this morning, it was announced that there was a train derailment in Raymond, Minnesota. Multiple train cars were involved, four of which contained ethanol, which then caught fire. Senator Andrew Lang (R-Olivia) released the following statement in response:

“Thank you to the first responders who acted quickly to address the situation and ensure everyone in and around the Raymond community is safe and accounted for,” said Lang. “We must also recognize and thank surrounding communities and local organizations who immediately stepped up to ensure every displaced person has a place to go as the situation gets resolved. I plan to be out there today, willing to offer any assistance necessary.”

Two emergency collection sites have been established in Prinsburg: one at the Central Minnesota Christian School building, and another at Unity Church. The sites are asking for bottled water and snacks.
