The University of Minnesota has announced this year’s Farm Family Recognition Program honorees, celebrating farm families from across Minnesota for their important contributions to agriculture and their local communities.
Senator Andrew Lang (R–Olivia) congratulated the honorees from Senate District 16:
“Farming is not for the faint of heart,” said Sen. Lang. “Congratulations to all the farm families across Minnesota, especially those in District 16. You are a cornerstone of our state’s economy and a true example of hard work, endurance, and dedication. Thank you to all farm families for everything you do.”
The Farm Family Recognition Program has honored Minnesota farmers since 1979. It is run by University of Minnesota Extension along with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Honorees are celebrated each August at Farmfest in Redwood County.
