Gazelka: A Surprise Surplus Means No New Taxes Rosen: Even a Surprise Surplus doesn’t mean our budget is sustainable

(ST. PAUL, MN) –  Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (R-East Gull Lake) and Senate Finance Chair Julie Rosen (R-Fairmont) released the following statements on the state’s budget forecast showing a current $641 million surplus and a projected $1.2 billion deficit coming in 2022-2023.
