Farnsworth votes to fund college STEM, mining, mineral programs and scholarships

ST. PAUL – Yesterday, the Minnesota Senate voted to pass a bill related to higher education financial aid. A key amendment earned the support of Sen. Rob Farnsworth (R- Hibbing) and was added to the bill.

“Securing a bright future for mining in Minnesota is one of my top priorities. But that can’t happen without talented and hard-working people having access to a quality education,” Farnsworth said. “The support for the education programs and scholarships will allow many to build not just their career, but also start a family and support our local economy in the Northland. It was really important to include these programs and scholarships in this bill, and I was proud to literally stand up for the Iron Range when division was called to confirm the voice vote on the Senate floor.”
