HIBBING – Senator Rob Farnsworth, R- Hibbing, released the following statement after the Minnesota Supreme Court suspended a vital permit for the NorthMet copper-nickel mine:

“Minnesota’s Iron Range has proven its resiliency over and over again, but the continuing legal roadblocks for mining that has been tested and proven safe are increasingly frustrating. I’ve said that mining in Minnesota is at a tipping point. It will either have the support from all levels of government to grow the economy, revitalize the Northland, and protect our natural resources, or liberal special interests will continue to find friendly courts that will hammer the death knell into any mining future in Minnesota.”
