Farnsworth statement on Huber Operations move to Mississippi

ST. PAUL – Today Sen. Rob Farnsworth, R- Hibbing, released the following statement on Huber Engineered Woods decision to move their operations plant to Mississippi. Huber announced in February they were no longer pursuing plans to build their plant in Cohasset, MN due to ongoing legal and regulatory challenges.

“Once again, Minnesota is losing out on hosting an innovative employer with hundreds of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars of investment. We have got to stop letting government bureaucracy and legal challenges from chasing away new opportunities over and over again. Until we have leaders that are ready to work with businesses and employers instead of throwing up roadblocks to stop their success, this is a pattern that is destined to repeat itself.”

The Mississippi Development Authority said the plant is expected to provide 158 jobs and bring $418 million in investment to Mississippi.
