ST. PAUL – Senator Rob Farnsworth (R- Hibbing) released the following statement after the Biden Administration revoked a previously approved water permit for NewRange project by Polymet:

“I’m extremely disappointed with yet another hurdle intentionally thrown in the path of mining in Minnesota. The revocation of the water permit for the NewRange project by an activist administration at the request of the Fond du Lac band simply ignores the decades of work done in Minnesota by the U.S. Corps of Engineers to ensure we have clean water. We must do better to keep these mining projects moving forward. Otherwise, we risk becoming beholding to bad actors like China and other nations with terrible environmental and human rights records for the resources we need on a daily basis.”
