Draheim: Democrat Blackout Bill raises energy costs, lowers reliability

Senator Rich Draheim (R-Madison Lake) today issued the following statement about the passage of Senate File 4, the 100% carbon-free by 2040 mandate, also known as the Minnesota Blackout bill.

“The Blackout bill will put Minnesota’s energy system in jeopardy, causing power cuts during critical times, and will make energy more expensive for families who are already struggling to afford their energy bills.

There is a better solution: the A+ Energy Plan. This proposal provides a reliable, affordable, and always-on energy source through the use of a diverse mix of clean energy sources, such as nuclear, renewable gas, and hydroelectric power. The “all of the above” approach guarantees a constant energy supply, making it a practical solution for meeting the growing energy demands of our population. The A+ Energy Plan is a smarter, safer option for our energy future.”
