Senator Chamberlain: Gov. Dayton should do more to secure Amazon bid release

Senate Tax Committee Chairman Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) today released the following statement in light of the governor’s urging of the release of Minnesota’s Amazon bid.

“I thank the governor for finally noticing the lack of transparency and accountability with Minnesota’s Amazon bid. This is an issue that is clearly bothering a lot of Minnesotans, and even though the governor is late to the game, I welcome his support for the bid’s release.

“But passively suggesting the bid be released is not enough. The governor needs to take action, use the power of his office, and order the bid released. This is public information funded with public money; the public has a right to know what is in the bid, and the governor has a responsibility to make sure that happens. The governor needs to do more than simply hope this information is released.”
