The University of Minnesota has announced this year’s Farm Family Recognition Program honorees, celebrating farm families from across Minnesota for their important contributions to agriculture and their local communities.
Senator Mark Koran (R–North Branch) congratulated the honorees from Senate District 28:
“It’s incredible what farmers accomplish year after year,” said Sen. Koran. “I want to congratulate and thank all the outstanding Farm Families, especially those in Chisago and Isanti Counties. Farming is the backbone of our economy and our way of life, and Minnesota is home to the very best.”
The Farm Family Recognition Program has honored Minnesota farmers since 1979. It is run by University of Minnesota Extension along with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resource Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Honorees are celebrated each August at Farmfest in Redwood County.
