Senator Dan Hall

Dan Hall has been a resident of Burnsville since 1991. Dan has been married to his wife, Valerie, since 1974, and together, they are the proud parents of eight children and twelve grandchildren. Dan and his family attend River Valley Church in Apple Valley and Cedar Valley Church in Bloomington.

Dan graduated from Minneapolis Roosevelt High School and Augsburg College. True to his Minnesota roots, he also was a hockey All-American. His first job was at 14 years old, feeding U.S. soldiers at the VA Hospital who returned from Vietnam. Since that auspicious beginning, Dan has worked as the Minneapolis YMCA Director, a school principal, and as a schoolteacher, and minister. Since 2012, Dan has worked as vice president of business relations for JUX Law Firm.

Dan has also been an active volunteer in his community and has a strong history in public service. Dan served as a volunteer police and fire department chaplain in Burnsville for 19 years, providing comfort and care for those facing tragedy and notifying people when loved ones have died. For nearly ten years, Dan managed and operated the Open Arms Food Shelf that delivered food to needy families in Burnsville on a weekly basis. For his service to his community, Dan has been awarded the Burnsville City Council’s “Community Builder” award.

Dan is honored to represent Senate District 56, which includes the communities of Burnsville, Lakeville, and Savage.
