State Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen, R-Alexandria, issued the following statement today upon confirmation that District 8 resident Chief Warrant Officer 2 Charles P. Nord, from Perham, was among the three Minnesota National Guard soldiers who died in a helicopter crash near Kimball on Thursday.

“My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to the families of Chief Warrant Officer Charles Nord and his two fellow Minnesota National Guard service members who tragically perished this past week. The three servicemen were courageous members of our national guard, and their loss serves as a reminder of the sacrifices that men and women make to preserve our defense every single day. The legacy of the three will be forever remembered by our state and communities in northwest Minnesota. During this difficult time, I hope that our community can come together to support these families with our thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.”
