Senator Rosen on federal ‘American Recovery Plan’: “Government is flush with cash but families are still struggling. It’s time to give working folks a break”

Senate Finance Committee Chair Julie Rosen (R-Fairmont) reacted to the passing of the $1.9 trillion “American Recovery Plan” in the US House today. The bill provides a total of $4.8 billion to the state and local governments of Minnesota for various uses. The bill designates about $2.1 billion to local entities, and about $2.6 available to the State.

“There’s no reason to raise taxes; there’s no reason to raise fees. Government is flush with cash but families are still struggling. Instead of asking people to turn over more of their hard-earned money, let’s use our resources to ease some stress for businesses and workers. One prime example is the Paycheck Protection Program conformity and unemployment assistance tax relief bill that we will pass in the coming days. It’s time to give working folks a break.”
