Senator John Jasinski elected Assistant Senate Majority Leader

Minnesota Senate Republicans on Thursday elected Senator John Jasinski (R-Faribault) as an assistant majority leader, a responsibility he will take on along with his current role as vice chair of the Senate Transportation Finance and Policy Committee. He is serving his first term in the Senate for District 24, which includes Dodge, Rice, Steele, and Waseca Counties.

“I am honored my colleagues trusted me with this new responsibility,” said Senator Jasinski. “I am a believer that success comes from having great relationships, and I am excited to use my new role to help bridge the divide between the Senate, House, and Gov.-elect Walz so we can make the 2019 and 2020 sessions as successful as the last two.”

“It didn’t take long for Senator Jasinski to establish himself as a powerful voice in the legislature,” said Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (R-Nisswa). “Whether it’s delivering funding for highway 14 or holding the administration’s feet to the fire on the MNLARS mess, he already has a reputation as a man who gets things done and builds strong relationships with everyone. I’m excited to see how much he’ll be able to accomplish for Dodge, Rice, Steele, and Waseca counties, and now the entire state of Minnesota, with this new role.”
