Senator Jasinski statement on Legislative Auditor’s report that found ‘troubling dysfunction’ at the Dept. of Human Services related to overpayments to tribes

Earlier today, the office of the Legislative Auditor released a report on their investigation into overpayments made by the Dept. of Human Services to two tribes in northern Minnesota for opioid addiction treatment. The report found “troubling dysfunction” at the department and a lack of accountability for the illegal payments.

Senator John Jasinski (R-Faribault) released the following statement:

“DHS is in complete turmoil; it seems like every week there is a new scandal. Their complete refusal to accept responsibility and the lack of any documentation about their processes is a damning indictment of the department. DHS needs a wholesale culture change, and they need it right now.”
