Senator Ingebrigtsen begins 2020 session excited to work for Minnesota families

On Tuesday, Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen (R-Alexandria) and the Minnesota Legislature convened for the first day of 2020 legislative session at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul. The legislative session must adjourn by May 18, 2020.

“Just like 2018 and 2019, I am excited to hit the ground running as the 2020 session begins,” said Senator Ingebrigtsen. “I spent the past several months listening to what is on your mind – and the issues that are impacting your families. We have a lot to do, and I look forward to getting back to work to ensure that Minnesota is working for you.”

Last month, Senate Republicans released their Vision 2020 agenda, outlining the Senate majority’s critical priorities for the 2020 session. While not a budget year, the legislature is expected to consider a capital investment bill, a supplemental budget, tax relief, and more. In addition, the Senate will consider measures related to health care costs, energy, public safety, roads and bridges, public infrastructure, job growth, and more.
