Senator Dan Hall receives MGA Hero of the Food Industry award

The Minnesota Grocers Association (MGA) presented its MGA Legislator of the Year award to Senator Dan Hall (R-Burnsville) at its annual Legislative Dinner on February 20, 2020, at the St. Paul Hotel in St. Paul, MN. Hall received the honor for his leadership in advancing the food industry’s priorities during the 2019 Minnesota Legislative Session.

“I am truly honored by the Minnesota Grocers Association to be this year’s Legislator of the Year recipient,” said Senator Hall. “As chair of the Local Government committee, I see the incredible impact that grocery stores and similar outlets have on Minnesotan communities, both in the metro and greater Minnesota.”

“Minnesota has a diverse economy, and the food industry is an important part of creating a vibrant economy.  Our community is blessed to have an abundant network of job creators to the industry, which provides one out of every twenty jobs in the state,” Senator Hall continued.  “I strongly support policies that create jobs and allow families to have an abundant kitchen table.  I am honored to receive this award from the Minnesota Grocers Association.  I will continue to advocate for consumers, main street Minnesota businesses, and all Minnesotans.”

“Senator Hall fought tirelessly last session in promoting legislation that creates jobs and careers for his constituents.  He displayed outstanding commitment in advocating for common-sense policies that spur economic activity and put more money back in the pockets of hardworking Minnesotans.  He truly is a champion of a free marketplace, not placing undue burdens on local business, and helping our neighbors keep their shopping baskets full,” said Jamie Pfuhl, President of the Minnesota Grocers Association. “This award is a testament to his vision, leadership, and support of the entire industry from farm to fork.”
