Senator Bruce Anderson: Celebrating our freedoms this Independence Day

Friends and neighbors,

This Fourth of July marks the 249th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. As we come together with family and friends to enjoy fireworks, barbecues, and parades, let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this special day.

Independence Day is a time to honor the freedoms we hold dear: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the freedom to pursue our dreams. These rights were not simply handed to us. They were earned through the courage and sacrifice of those who came before us.

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, let us also remember and pay tribute to the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Our veterans, past and present, have defended these freedoms with great dedication and sacrifice. Their bravery ensures that the principles outlined in the Declaration of Independence remain the foundation of our nation.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Sincerely,

Bruce Anderson
