Senate Democrats Block Jobs and Infrastructure Bill on Final Night of Session

(ST. PAUL, MN) –  Senate Republicans offered a nearly billion dollars for jobs and infrastructure borrowing on the final night of the 2020 session. Senate Democrats failed to offer enough votes to approve the bill effectively blocking any bonding from moving forward.

“This is the last train leaving the station for bonding,” said Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (R-East Gull Lake). “It’s disappointing that we couldn’t come together tonight on this responsible, important bill. All four leaders and all four caucuses- including Senate Democrats- and the Governor, have to work together for Minnesota.”
