Sen. Nelson amendments would add consumer protections to cannabis law

Minnesota State Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) on Friday successfully added four amendments to a Senate bill proposing several changes to the state’s cannabis law. The Nelson amendments are aimed at strengthening protections and adding transparency for consumers. 

“In their haste to legalize cannabis last year, Democrats passed a bill that created numerous challenges for Minnesotans,” Sen. Nelson said. “As more and more adults choose to self-medicate with cannabis, there has been an increase in reports of serious side effects. My amendments will provide more transparent information and protections for consumers, as well as proper education about the harmful consequences for children.”
