Sen. Dornink responds to Gov. Walz’s decision to retire

On Monday, Jan. 5, Gov. Tim Walz announced that he will no longer seek a third term as Minnesota governor. Sen. Gene Dornink (R-Brownsdale) released the following statement:

“Minnesotans are paying the price for Walz’s failed leadership. Fraud is out of control, and billions of taxpayer dollars have been lost under his watch.

“Walz may be stepping down, but Democrats share responsibility for these failures. They blew through an $18 billion surplus, raised taxes by $10 billion, and imposed burdensome mandates that have hurt families, schools, and businesses statewide.

“A change in the governor’s office alone will not fix our state’s problems. Minnesotans deserve a state government that delivers accountability, transparency, and real results.”
