Assistant Republican Caucus Leader
Senator Jordan Rasmusson is serving his first term in the Minnesota Senate. He represents Senate District 9, which includes communities in Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Traverse, and Wilkin counties. Senator Rasmusson is an Assistant Leader for the Senate Republican Caucus. He serves as the Ranking Member of the Human Services Committee and as a member of the Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection and Capital Investment committees. He also serves on the Pension Commission.
Before being elected to the Senate, Senator Rasmusson served a term in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Senator Rasmusson grew up in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and is a sixth-generation resident of Otter Tail County. He graduated from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree in government. Before joining the Legislature, he worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company and as a private equity investor at Bain Capital.
He and his wife, Emma, live in Fergus Falls, where Senator Rasmusson works as a business consultant. He is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard.
