Senate Aging and Long-Term Care Committee Chairwoman Karin Housley (R-St. Mary’s Point) issued the following statement on the appointment of new Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm.

“I look forward to working with Commissioner Malcolm in the coming legislative session. I appreciate her commitment to continuing the work the Senate Aging and Long-Term Care committee has started related to elder abuse.

Commissioner Malcolm’s professional background makes her a great choice to lead the Health Department and I am hopeful that together we will make significant progress this session to make Minnesota a safer place for our seniors and vulnerable adults.”
