Senator Michael Holmstrom (R–Buffalo) today was appointed to the Legislative Commission on Human Services Systems. The LCHSS will provide legislative oversight, monitoring, and recommendations regarding a comprehensive modernization of Minnesota’s human services systems, from financing to operations.

“Overhauling Minnesota’s old human services technology will be a cornerstone in our new efforts to stop the fraud that’s been happening under the current Democrat administration for so long,” said Sen. Holmstrom. “It’s also an opportunity to vastly improve the delivery of these services to the people that need them most, our elderly, sick, disabled, and vulnerable. These are the people that have really been harmed by Gov. Walz and his agencies’ incompetence. This is our chance to fix what the current Democrat administration neglected.”

The LCHSS is part of a larger 2026 package addressing Minnesota’s aging human services IT infrastructure. Eight legislators, four from the House and four from the Senate will make up the commission. The first meeting is scheduled for September 15, 2026, with annual reports due to relevant legislative committees starting in 2027.
