Friends and neighbors,
Like you, my heart is broken for the victims of the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic School, as well as the families and community that were affected. As of now, two young children are confirmed dead and many others wounded.
We cannot imagine the pain these families are enduring. Our prayers are with them all, and I trust in the strength of their faith to carry them through this awful tragedy. Psalm 34:18 tells us that “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” I pray that those words give some measure of comfort to the parents, teachers, and community of Annunciation as they grieve.
I support armed law enforcement in our schools. It is sad we are at this point, however our children must be protected. A school is meant to be a place of joy, peace, growth, and protection, and to see it struck by this violence is devastating. But I also believe God’s light shines brightest in the darkest times, and I know the families of Annunciation will find strength in Him and in each other.
Please join me in lifting these families up in prayer.
God Bless,
