Friends and neighbors,
On Monday, Senate Democrats voted to end the bipartisan power sharing agreement that the Senate has been working under since session began. We had co-presidents, co-chairmanships of committees, and Republican and Democrat leaders agreeing to the issues that came up on the floor. It allowed the Senate to function smoothly and conduct the people’s business.
It was also a stark contrast to what we are seeing in the House, where Democrats have refused to come to work and filed lawsuits in order to try to prevent Republicans from having power.
Unfortunately, for all the talk from Democrats – especially the so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats – about how much they like bipartisanship and working together, it was all a lie. At the first possible moment, they reverted back to the partisanship of the past.
The past two years have shown us exactly how Senate Democrats operate — bulldozing their left-wing agenda through, ignoring anyone who questions or disagrees, and pretending they care about bipartisanship.
When the rubber meets the road, they always fall in line.
