Governor Dayton’s April 12, 2018 comments regarding elder care legislation

Read a response from Senator Karin Housley, chairwoman of the Senate Aging and Long-Term Care Policy Committee, here.

The following are comments made by Governor Mark Dayton during an April 12, 2018 press conference:

“Here you’ve got the Senate author giving her presentation to the committee with the nursing home lobbyists on either side of her. I’ve never seen that before in state government in Minnesota. Never anything that blatant. And her bill reflects that. There are five task forces and two working groups and nothing going forward right now to address the absence of any licensure and oversight over the assisted living facilities.”
