Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen

Proudly representing Senate District 8
Communities in Douglas and Otter Tail counties

Bill Ingebrigtsen was born and raised in Karlstad, Minnesota — a small community in Kittson County.  Bill has been married to his wife, Marilyn, for over 40 years, and they currently reside in Alexandria. Together, Bill and Marilyn have two children and six grandchildren.

Their son, Jason, and his wife, Alyssa, have three children and are the owners and operators of a small business in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. Their daughter, Linnea, and her husband, Chad, live with their three children near Garfield, Minnesota. Linnea and Chad both work for Douglas County. Family is a priority in Bill and Marilyn’s life; in their spare time, they enjoy fishing, swimming, hunting, and boating together with their children and grandchildren.

Bill is a 34-year veteran of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, including 16 years as the Douglas County Sheriff. Marilyn is a nurse in the emergency room at the Douglas County Hospital. Together, they are both active members of the Alexandria Evangelical Covenant Church.

Bill now serves Senate District 8, which includes communities across Douglas and Otter Tail counties.
