Living in Minnesota keeps getting more and more expensive, thanks in large part to policies that Democrats passed when they had full control of government in 2023 and 2024. From car tabs to property taxes, the cost of just about everything has gone up and it’s very likely your own paychecks haven't kept pace. Despite the finger pointing at Washington D.C., Minnesota is an expensive state because of decisions made right here in Minnesota by Democrat leaders.
Recently I filmed a short video about just how expensive it is to live here. I walk through some charts showing how Minnesota stacks up against neighboring states on taxes and government spending, and the picture isn't pretty.
Democrats grew state government by over 40% while most families saw their incomes go up maybe 3 or 4 percent. Someone has to pay for that. Spoiler alert, it's you.
