Lang Legislative Updates April 6, 2026

Friends and neighbors,

I hope you had a peaceful Easter weekend and were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.

Tomorrow, the legislative session fires back up after the break. We have just six weeks left, and the focus will be on moving bills through committee and onto the Senate floor. This includes any bills that involve spending taxpayer dollars. While this isn’t a full budget year, there will be a supplemental budget with some funding available.

This is also a bonding year. The Capital Investment Committee has been meeting, but it’s unclear whether a bonding bill will make it out of committee. Because bonding bills require a three-fifths (60%) majority in both the Senate and the House, any package must have strong bipartisan support. I continue to push for important projects in our district, including the Lake Lillian water infrastructure project and the DNR’s request for the Glacial Lakes State Trail extension.

I’ll be recording a new video soon to answer your questions. Please send me the issues or topics you’d like me to address, whether it’s about the session, spending, or anything else on your mind. You can email my office or let me know on Facebook.

Thanks for staying engaged. Have a great week ahead!
