Senator Jeremy Miller offers to broker meeting with Trump, Walz to stop madness in Minnesota

Minnesota State Senator Jeremy Miller today offered to broker a meeting between President Donald Trump and Gov. Tim Walz in an effort to restore civility and end the escalating crisis in Minnesota.

Senator Miller’s full statement is below.

"I would like to extend an offer to President Donald J. Trump and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to broker a meeting in an effort to restore civility and end the chaos we are seeing here in Minnesota.

"I was born and raised right here in the great state of Minnesota. My wife and I are raising our family here. I operate multiple businesses here, and I’m actively involved in the community. I love this state and it saddens me to see Minnesota constantly making headlines for all of the wrong reasons. I was hoping cooler heads would prevail, but clearly that’s not happening.

"I’m hearing from folks across the state and beyond who have significant concerns about the massive fraud taking place. I’m hearing from folks who have significant concerns with criminals not being held responsible for their actions. I'm hearing from folks who have significant concerns with the number of individuals who are in the state illegally, especially those committing violent crimes. Many folks are concerned that the state is not doing enough to address these serious issues.

"The problem is, there has been too much blaming and too many excuses, but no answers, no accountability, and definitely not enough cooperation. We can all speculate to the moon and back, I certainly have been, but at the end of the day, the state and federal government need to work together to hold the bad players accountable because it’s clear that the current approach is not working.

"I’m offering to sit down with President Trump and Governor Walz to discuss ideas, find areas of agreement, and ultimately come up with solutions to hold the fraudsters and criminals accountable without the turmoil. We need to figure out a way to do this while not negatively affecting the law-abiding Minnesotans who truly need and rely on government services.

"President Trump, Governor Walz, let’s get together to figure out a plan to dial back the rhetoric and stop the madness. It’s time for more cooperation and less conflict. It’s time for solutions."
