Sen. Michael Holmstrom takes oath of office

Michael Holmstrom, a small business owner and father of five from Buffalo, was sworn in Tuesday as the newest member of the Minnesota Senate. He won a special election on Nov. 4 to represent District 29, which includes parts of Wright, Meeker, and Hennepin counties.

“The opportunity to serve the people of Senate District 29 is the privilege of a lifetime. I’m incredibly humbled and grateful to follow in the footsteps of Senator Bruce Anderson, who left a remarkable legacy that inspires me to represent our communities with pride and integrity,” said Sen. Holmstrom. “As a small business owner and father, I understand firsthand the challenges that Minnesotans are facing, and I will fight for safe communities, strong families, and restoring transparency and accountability at the Capitol.”

Sen. Holmstrom and his wife, Nicole, are raising their family in Buffalo. He has been active in Wright County and Central Minnesota grassroots efforts for years while running a small business.
