Today the Minnesota Supreme Court issued a ruling the case of a transgender powerlifter that puts at risk the safety and fairness of all girls sports. Senator Robert Farnsworth (R-Hibbing) released the following statement in response:

“This ruling will put women and girl athletes at risk of losing scholarships and titles they deserve and at risk of being severely injured. The science is clear that boys and men are born with distinct advantages in athletic competitions that cannot be changed, yet the Minnesota Supreme Court has decided to ignore common sense. I will continue to push for safety and fairness for our daughters, and work to protect the spaces they worked so hard to secure.”
