Gruenhagen: Healthcare in crisis, part 1

Friends and neighbors,

Minnesota has some of the best doctors and hospitals in the country, but anyone who has experience with our healthcare system knows there is a massive web of bureaucracy getting between you and the care you need.

Since Obamacare passed, we’ve seen increasing premiums and deductibles, more red tape, and more government interference in the doctor–patient relationship. In some cases, 40 to 50 cents of every premium dollar now goes toward bureaucracy instead of actual care. We were promised lower costs and better access but instead, we have more uninsured Minnesotans, more uncompensated care, and doctors burning out from the paperwork.

I have a bill that would improve things some. I have introduced it in previous years and will try again next session. My bill will give Minnesotans more control over their health care and remove many of these needless layers of regulation. It’s an approach that I believe can bring down costs and restore better, faster access to your doctor.

I recently posted a brief video about my bill and some of the problems in our healthcare system. It is the first in a series; stay tuned for other videos coming in the near future.

I hope you will take a few minutes to watch: https://youtu.be/MyAPXbT9Zcs?si=eyMxY39I_EjsJDif

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, I would love to hear it.

God Bless,

Senator Glenn Gruenhagen
