Senator Kiffmeyer applauds Workers’ Compensation agreement

Friends and Neighbors,

Our healthcare workers and first responders deserve excellent care and workers’ protections during the fight against COVID-19. I am happy to announce that today an agreement was reached between the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council (WCAC) and other stakeholders for updated insurance and policies. The agreement will now be voted on in the legislature for approval and then passed to the Governor for his signature.

This is great news for all the nurses, firefighters, police officers, paramedics, health care providers, personal care attendants, corrections officers, and others who are doing an incredible job caring for us and protecting us during this time. They are at a significantly greater risk for exposure to the virus and it is only right that they have safeguards in place for their own health.

We are incredibly thankful for their daily dedication on the front lines in this fight against COVID-19.
