Senate majority leader responds to vetoes of Republican budget bills

Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka issued the following statement:

“While not unexpected, it’s very disappointing that Gov. Dayton did not sign any of the five budget bills the legislature passed this week to fund agriculture, the environment, state government operations, K-12 education, and health and human services. It’s not easy for over 200 legislators from all parts of the state to agree, and the governor’s vetoes ignore the wishes of the people they represent. Despite this, the legislature will adapt and work toward an acceptable compromise for the good of Minnesota.”
