Investigation Continues in Hayden Ethics Complaint

Following a three hour ethics hearing in which two complaints against Senator Jeff Hayden were heard by the Senate Ethics Subcommittee, the committee adjourned without dismissing either ethics complaint. The committee vowed to look deeper into the allegations before reconvening for another hearing on Wednesday, November 5th.
Republican Leader David Hann (R-Eden Prairie), the complainant who presented to the committee, released this statement:
We are pleased the Ethics Subcommittee granted a de facto probable cause ruling regarding our complaint against Senator Jeff Hayden. The subcommittee wants more information and facts before they make their final decision in this important matter.
Over the next two weeks, we will reach out to the Minneapolis School Board to get their version of events regarding the alleged threats made by Senator Hayden and Senator Champion over the CSI contract. The Subcommittee will also be seeking additional supporting documentation from the original DHS audit into improper board conduct at Minneapolis Community Action.
Once more facts are known, we believe the Subcommittee will have what they need to find probable cause and launch a more thorough investigation.”
